China bans “diehard” Taiwanese secessionists from travelling to mainland

The Chinese government have announced that individuals identified as “diehard Taiwanese secessionists” will be prevented from entering mainland China, or cooperating with businesses there. Such measures are expected to deter the secessionist movement in Taiwan, especially by removing the ability of associated businesses to make a profit from mainland China

Communist parties meet in ‘World Symposium’

More than 150 representatives of Communist and workers’ parties participated in a World Symposium organised online by the Communist Party of China (CPC) last week (27 May 2021).  The meeting began with a message of greetings from Chinese President and CPC General Secretary Xi Jinping. He told the international guests that “Marxism sheds light in a scientific way on the laws governing the development of human society, showing the way forward to emancipation and stimulating the advance of civilisation.”

Communists of China and Britain discuss Marxism

In a high-level meeting at the beginning of the month, leading Communists from China and Britain spent more than two hours discussing Marxism past, present and future. The online talks took place at the invitation of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and its Vice-Minister Guo Yezhou. The Communist Party of Britain was represented by General Secretary Robert Griffiths, Chair Liz Payne, International Secretary John Foster and Political Committee member Ben Chacko.

Xi Jinping declares eradication of extreme poverty in China

China’s President Xi Jinping solemnly declared “complete victory” in eradicating absolute poverty in the country during a conference in Beijing on Thursday 25th February 2021. The announcement of this great miracle in the human history of poverty reduction came four months before the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC), which leads the world’s most populous nation. China is expected to declare a moderately prosperous society in all respects in the middle of this year, which means that the country has achieved its first centenary goal on schedule in 2021. In 2049, China will achieve its second centenary goal of building “a modern socialist country that is prosperous, strong, democratic, culturally advanced and harmonious.
