The Communist Party’s International secretary John Foster told the CP Political Committee on Wednesday evening (23 June 2021) that while the Conservative government is preparing real-terms cuts to the budgets needed for a post-COVID recovery, military spending will jump by 20% over the next two years.  He strongly condemned the government’s decision to sail the guided-missile warship HMS Defender (pictured) inside Crimean territorial waters directly opposite Russia’s Sevastopol naval base.

Hypocritical clothing companies buy into US propaganda over Xinjiang

The trade and propaganda war of the US and its allies against China has recently caused some friendly fire after the Chinese Youth Communist League publicly denounced a group of mainly clothing corporations that have cut supply links with Xinjiang. Many of the corporations have a long history of enthusiastically utilising global sweatshops. Yet, as Xinjiang residents have been lifted out of poverty in recent years, these long-term exploiters have decided to claim the moral high ground on a hill built of US State department lies that are repeatedly denied and disproven by people who live in China.

US carries out air strike in Syria

The US carried out an air strike on facilities used by Iranian-backed militia groups in eastern Syria on Thursday night (25 February 2021) in response to three separate rocket attacks against US forces in Iraq, according to a Pentagon spokesperson. The strikes is alleged to have destroyed several facilities at a border control point used by a number of Iran-backed militia groups linked to the attacks against US forces in Iraq, including Kataib Hezbollah and Kataib Sayyid al-Shuhada,
