Bolivia’s coup leader crashes out of the upcoming election

Jeanine Anez, Bolivia’s quasi dictator since last year’s coup against elected President Evo Morales, has crashed out of the country’s upcoming 18 October election after being projected to receive only 5% of the vote in a recent nation wide poll.

Bolivia elections delayed until September 2020

Bolivia’s Supreme Electoral Court (TSE) announced yesterday (2 June 2020) that the country’s next elections to the Legislative Assembly and the Presidency will be postponed until September. The election was originally due to take place on 3 May 2020 but was postponed indefinitely in March as Bolvia grappled with the COVID-19 lockdown.
