Protests rage on in Haiti amidst ongoing U.S. backed coup

The plethora of actions taken by Moïse and his ‘Tèt Kale’ party are quite obviously part of an attempt to consolidate power in the country and can very be accurately described as an ongoing coup. He doesn’t intend to serve one more year in office to then bow out decorously; Moïse is attempting to seize unilateral control of the Haitian state against the will of the people. 

China-U.S. relations at all time low after contentious Alaska summit

Blinken listed Hong Kong, Xinjiang, and Taiwan in a lecturing fashion to the Chinese officials. US sells a million gallons of seized Iranian oil amid rising tensions

The United States has sold off over a million gallons of Iranian oil that had been seized last year. The shipment was being sent to Venezuela but was intercepted before arrival. Last week, the final gallons were sold off by Washington, with profits totalling over $40 million. The cargo was seized under the pretext of violations of U.S. sanctions on Tehran, which greatly limit both Iranian imports and exports.
